What I’m building
FeatherIDE is an AI code editor that stays fast on a 4GB, five-year-old laptop. It runs a tiny local model for autocomplete and only reaches for a big cloud model when the task actually needs it — so you get modern AI help without a $2,000 machine or a fat internet pipe.
Why I’m building it
Most AI dev tools assume you have a top-tier laptop and fiber. Half the world’s best developers don’t. Talent is evenly distributed; hardware isn’t. I want to close that gap in the tool people spend all day inside.
What the tokens unlock
Credits cover the cloud model usage for the “hard task” tier and the compute to benchmark and shrink the local model so it stays snappy on weak hardware.
